Cape Point Tour
AWOL Tours provides privately guided Cape Point tours for hikers or cyclists at Cape Point and Cape of Good Hope.
Guests will be met at their accommodation at 8am (or 7am to avoid crowds in peak summer Dec & Jan) for a personalised cycling or hiking tour by a qualified nature and culture guide who will regale facts, stories and legends about the history and culture of the Cape. We travel to Cape Peninsula section of the Table Mountain National Park viewing the African penguins at the Boulders Beach colony en route.
Once in the reserve, guests have the option of doing a 25km-60km bike ride or more along undulating roads leading down to the Cape of Good Hope, the most South-Westerly corner on the African continent. Enjoy a leisurely hike from Cape of Good Hope to Cape Point, making the legend of the renowned “Cape of Storms” come alive.
Wildlife can be seen amongst the unique vegetation of the Cape Floral Kingdom. Relax and enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the many pristine white beaches, or opt for lunch at the Two Oceans restaurant/Harbour House, with spectacular views over False Bay. We return to Cape Town via the Atlantic coast and travel via Chapman’s Peak to Hout Bay, Llandudno and Camps Bay.
Optional extra: Guests can opt to add a 2 hour sea kayaking to view the penguins at Boulders Beach as part of AWOL Tours full day Cape Point tour. We paddle every day of the year from Simonstown, weather permitting – summer and winter. The winter months are often wonderful for paddling because they have more calm windless days than summer and on those days it is absolutely beautiful. Plus there is always a chance of seeing whales. The daily scheduled trip leaves at 8.30am in the summer season (9.00am winter season) when it is usually less windy and penguin sightings are better.
The full day expedition price varies on a sliding scale from R4140 **valid from 1st Nov 2023 to 31st Oct 2024** per person, based on two guests travelling, and is inclusive of the following:
- Transport in air conditioned vehicle to and from accommodation anywhere in Cape Town
