Suggested 5-day Hoerikwaggo Trail hiking itinerary (2-4 day hiking tours are offered upon request)

Day 1:  Cape Town – Orange Kloof Forest  (12km)
After an early breakfast you will be met by your local guides.  We take a short drive to the foot of Table Mountain and begin our adventure up Platteklip (flat stone) Gorge to the upper cable station.  From here, we make our way towards the coastal town of Hout Bay and arrive at our destination in the late afternoon.  We overnight in a picturesque, tented camp nestled in the ancient Afromontane forest of Orange Kloof.

Day 2: Orange Kloof Forest – Twelve Apostles circular walk   (17km)
After a peaceful night at the Disa River, we head off after breakfast through abundant fauna and flora. Today we do a circular hike and spend the night back at Orangekloof Tented Camp. The hike starts off with a manageable rock scrambling section through the Myburgh waterfall ravine. Once on the top of the Twelve Apostles a very secluded part of the Table Mountain National Park follows with exceptional views over the Orange Kloof valley below, and the Atlantic Ocean. The hike continues through the lush and green forest until the Orange Kloof camp is reached again.

Day 3: Orange Kloof – Kommetjie   (18km)
Due to fire damage, AWOL Tours provides transfers to the next section of the trail. After a hearty breakfast we make our way up Chapmans Peak, which offers magnificent views from Table Mountain to Cape Point, down to Noordhoek beach. PS Sections of the this trail are closed so may require transfers or walking on Chapmans Peak Drive. The remainder of the day is spent walking along the beach with the fresh smell of the ocean sharpening your senses.  Be on the lookout for Oystercatchers, Otters, as well as whales and dolphins.  We head all the way to Kommetjie, where we spend the night.

Day 4 :  Kommetjie – Smitswinkel   (20km)
From Kommetjie we make our way to the Old Wireless Station and hike up Slangkop via Grootkop and eventually arrive at either the Smitswinkel luxury tented camp or  the Cape Point Cottages.  Spend the night on a secluded stone cottage on a farm near Cape Point with pristine mountain scenery. If you are adventurous, a part of the trail is done bush-bashing.

Day 5:  Smitswinkel Bay  – Cape Point – Cape Town   (17km)
After we have enjoyed our breakfast together, we hike into the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve.  From the entrance gate of the reserve we hike along through fabulous fynbos landscapes all the way to Cape Point.  We pass along picturesque beaches like Bordjiesdrif, Buffels bay and Rooikrans and we will also see the Da Gama Cross from a distance.  At Cape Point our adventure comes to an end and we drive back to your hotel in Cape Town.
