• Do not plan to hike in thick cloud cover and if a cold front is approaching. Watch the Lion’s
• Monitor weather conditions. Do not push on in bad weather. Find shelter from the wind and rain and guard against hypothermia.
• Weather on the mountain can change rapidly, so please take along wind- and waterproof clothing.
• Do not hike alone. An ideal party size is four hikers. Keep together.
• Drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration.
• Choose an experienced leader for your group who knows the local area.
• Always carry a cell phone and know the emergency rescue numbers.
